Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient medical system in which the physical, emotional and mental aspects of the human body are seen as interdependent and equally responsible for its state of health.
In TCM the body is seen as a network of channels connected to internal organs, where the energy (or Qi) circulates, much like blood in blood vessels or neurotransmitters in the nervous system.
If the flow of Qi becomes insufficient, excessive or is disrupted illness results. The aim in TCM is to help the body maintain an adequate level of Qi - by nourishing deficiency, draining excess and clearing stagnation.
The various treatment modalities offered by TCM are Acupuncture, Tui Na (traditional massage), Nutrition and Herbal Medicine.
